When Han Ye Seul accepted an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards she had something to say to her boyfriend, YG producer Teddy. She sent him some loving words and a kiss.
"To my lovely boyfriend Teddy, I want to tell him that I love him," she said. "I loved you a lot this year, and let's love more next year."
The actress' comment surprised many, as it is unusual for a k-celeb to make a public declaration of her relationship. And immediately netizens began to wonder if the couple planned to marry. They were even ranked in seventh place on tvN's list of "Celebrity Couples Most Likely To Marry in 2015."
But her agency, KeyEast, said that they did not have any plans.
"They are still in a great relationship, but do not plan to get married any time soon," said the Key East representative.
The couple has dated since early in 2013 and, given her recent shout out, the relationship is still going strong. While filming "Birth of a Beauty," she reportedly found time for dates with Teddy. One one of her rare days off the two were seen together at a Hongdae nightclub and she was often seen phoning him on the set.
But fitting dates into a busy schedule is nothing new for this couple. As Teddy is YG's main producer, he is often up late at night working on songs. He has been described as a workaholic and a perfectionist. When he does socialize, it is usually with YG's CEO Yang Hyun Suk and YG artists such as G-Dragon. Han Ye Seul occasionally joins them for drinks.
The couple are mostly said to enjoy dates early in the morning after he finishes recording. And she is said to be very understanding of his work schedule and his dedication to achieving excellence.
They have one important experience in common. Both Teddy and Han Ye Seul spent time living in the U.S. She was born and raised in Los Angeles before moving to South Korea to pursue acting and modeling. She renounced her U.S. citizenship in 2004 for South Korean citizenship.
Teddy Park, born Park Hong Jun, was born in South Korea but moved to New York City when he was a child. After he moved back to South Korea he majored in English at Myongji University. But he dropped out of university to join a hip hop group and later became a producer.
Han Ye Seul's drama "Birth of a Beauty" ends on Jan. 21.
