Manny Pacquiao has undergone sparring season on Tuesday at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles.
The local media outlet GMA News Network reported that Pacquiao has five hard rounds of sparring with two different sparring partners. it is said that the Filipino fighter's coach Freddie Roach said that Pacman is "on fire" on the sparring session.
According to SkySports, Roach is confident that Pacquiao will win over Floyd Mayweather and even name May 2 as St. Manny's day.
"Manny is on fire in the gym, I am confident May 2 will be celebrated for years to come as St. Manny's Day - the day he destroy Mayweather out of boxing!" said Roach.
The unbeaten prospects Kenneth Simms Jr. (5-0, 2 Kos) and Rashidi Ellis (14-0, 11 Kos) took the ring with Manny Pacquiao.
Simms is an eight-time national amateur boxing champion while Ellis has an impressive boxing record which includes a 2012 National Police athletic League Championship crown, a three-time New England Golden Gloves Championship plum and Rocky Marciano Amateur Boxing Tournament title.
"My sparring partners gave me good work today, they were perfect for testing the strategy Freddie and I have developed to beat Floyd Mayweather," said Pacquiao.
Manny Pacquiao added that he is happy with his stamina and speed during the sparring session.
Meanwhile, as Pacquiao and Mayweather fight is fast approaching, many has started to show their support in different parties.
Recently, Ultimate Fighting Championship star Urijah Faber said in the report of GMA News Network that he will not be rooting for his countryman Mayweather Jr.
"As far as being a fan, I'm always rooting for (Manny) Pacquiao," said Faber. He also added the he would like to see Mayweather lose in the battle.
However, Faber feels nervous to Pacquiao fighting Mayweather as the American boxer has a good track record and a bigger guy.
Mayweather and Pacquiao fight is on May 2 at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas Nevada.
