Ridley Scott has finally revealed the title of the sequel to 2012 science fiction "Prometheus" and apparently, it will be yet another film in the "Alien" franchise.
In an interview with HeyUGuys.com, director Ridley Scott said the "Prometheus 2" will be titled, "Alien: Paradise Lost." The film got its name from John Milton's epic poem, "Paradise Lost" and 1979-horror sci-fi classic film, "Alien."
"You know the poem?" Scott asked his interviewer. "I'm sure you've never been through it, the poem's a book, 'Paradise Lost.' It sounds intellectual but there's a similarity to it. That's where it stops."
At the London première of Ridley Scott's "The Martian," the director said that they are going to answer the questions about the origin of the beast and the process of how the mysterious egg was planted on the planet. "We're heading back to why and how and when the beast was invented, we'll go back in through the back door of the very first 'Alien' that I did thirty years ago."
The news about "Alien: Paradise Lost" will comes as a good news to the fans who were disappointed with 2012 "Prometheus," starring Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender. The horror sci-fi film did not come close enough to "Alien" saga the way it promised. Although, the famous "Alien"-like creature did make a cameo in the last scene of the film.
In an interview with Collider, Ridley Scott confirmed the possible sequel to "Prometheus." "If we're fortunate enough to do a sequel ... it will tangentialize even further away from the original Alien," Scott added.
The legendary filmmaker Ridley Scott recently revealed that he is planning to make at least three more films under "Prometheus" franchise. These three films will connect the bridge between the earlier "Alien" films and the new "Prometheus" films. The first "Alien" film was released in 1979, then in 1986, James Cameron directed "Aliens." In 1993 David Fincher directed "Aliens 3."
