According to YTN, the CEO of the agency released a statement saying that they pay their respects to the performance actor, who was enthusiastic about living while acting.

Song had been continuing to work as an independent artist during the first half of 2024, as he was draining the last pelvic dregs of his exclusive contract with Saram Entertainment when it expired last year.

He ultimately signed with a new management agency, where veteran Manager A is at the helm. Song was described by the CEO as a well-liked and hard-working actor who had gotten many recommendations from other executives in the industry after a series of talks.

Manager A told YTN, "He is also known as an actor with a good personality, so lots of people around him suggested him. Since the beginning of this year, we have held a number of meetings and finally signed a contract. We discussed his work and he is a very passionate actor and wants to do a lot of work."

Song had just recently wrapped up filming for her upcoming roles in the upcoming movie Plummet: A Man Who Lost His Business and romantic drama Pitta Love, both of which are expected to be released soon. Manager A also said, "For now, I believe all I can do for Jae-rim is to stay by his side until he leaves."

Song was later found dead at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, authorities said. It was discovered by a friend who went to see him and called the police. A suicide note was reportedly found at the scene.

A funeral has been prepared at Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital in Seoul, with his services on November 14 at noon.
