The tickets for the upcoming fight of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will be going on sale to the public next week and the American fighter is reported to earn about $180 million on the long-awaited fight.

The International Business Times reported that Mayweather will earn around $180 million on May 2 against his fight with the Filipino fighter Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Based on the negotiations on both camps, Pacquiao will have a 40 percent share while Mayweather will receive a 60 percent split.

However, Pacquiao will receive an estimated $100 million for his participation in the fight, as what analysts suggest as the richest purse in the boxing history, cite Associated Press.

"For whatever it's worth, the buildup over these years has certainly enhanced the fight, everybody knows about it even people who don't follow boxing," said promoter Bob Arum, who represents the Filipino fighter Manny Pacquiao.

"Plus we have a good economy, unlike in 2009 when people were out of work and didn't have the money to spend," he added.

Furthermore, Arum said that tickets for the May 2 fight of the millennium will be on sale to the public next week. Other tickets has been already sold to VIPs, celebrities, promoters, sponsors and others.

The cheapest ticket to be able to see the fight is around $1,500 for a limited basis for the public, while top-priced seats are at $10,000 as The Inquisitr reported.

Moreover, the live gate revenues at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas is expected to hit about $74 million and total revenues of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather fight might be around $400 million.

"Between the gate, the foreign television sales and the closed circuit, which we can't even calculate yet, you're looking at over #120 million and that's before one pay-per-view has been sold in the U.S," said Arum.
